The fly-in to Arnhem, Chalk 619, C-47 43-15180 USAF 314 TCG – 50 TCS

The Aircraft was hit by German flak on the 18th September 1944 and crashed by the Bonegraafseweg at Ochten, about 20km south-west of Oosterbeek. All paratroopers were from the Medium Machine-Gun platoon, Support Company (S Coy) and were originally buried near the crash site. They were reinterred in Jonkerbos War Cemetery, Nijmegen in Plot 8, rows A and B. The gravestones have the inscription ‘Buried near this spot’ as they could not be individually identified.
